Lee Sze Ching

Life is the root, art is the flower...
I draw nutrients from life to make the flower blossom, hoping it will touch the hearts and bring joy to people.

My first memory of dance was at the kindergarten graduation performance at 5 years-old. From then on, I fell in love with the stage, and pestered my mom to enroll me in ballet lessons at 8. At 14, my hunger for the stage drove me to the Traditional Chinese Dance club at Kuan Cheng Girls' School, where, under the influence and tutelage of Mr. Wong I began to develop an appreciation for the arts and culture. Knowing my artistic inclination, I read the Bachelor of Creative Arts course at The University of Melbourne in 2005, forging my passion and belief in the power of the arts. After graduating I worked in differerent positions as a gallery coordinator, a teacher, and dancer with Sabrina Dance Troupe in Melbourne, where we performed in schools, community and arts events, actively promoting Chinese culture through dance. Recently I returned to take up a position at a media company, and went back under the wings of Mr. Wong to continue my journey in dancewith my former dance mates. At 26, eager, hungry, and non-conforming, the passion for dance and the arts is still alive and burning, paving the path to a creative life.
